We left Harrington Harbour at dawn in near gale conditions, after a noisy night alongside the ferry wharf, bound for Îles-de-la-Madeleine, a group of sand bar islands just north of Prince Edward Island, but part of Quebec.

This outlier with its remote and no longer inhabited keeper's house was our land fall next morning.
